A couple of weeks ago, I threw my wife a surprise 40th birthday party, a party that she has been waiting ten years for. I did everything I could to keep it a surprise including:
- Setting up a special e-mail address for the party.
- Her best friend told her the party would not be until after Thanksgiving because things were just too busy.
- I didn’t tell my 15 year old son about it until two days before, so he wouldn’t slip up.
- We set up a great scam story to get her into the city so that she actually invited me to go out.
All in vain the surprise was ruined when she saw a run away balloon as we entered the party. I give up, but I have to say we had a lot of fun trying to surprise her and I guess she had a great time trying to figure it out.
Has anyone ever pulled off a really great surprise? I would love to hear about it!
I don’t know about you but I love to compete. Participating in sports and being part of a team has always been an intricate part of my life and identity for as long as I can remember. You name it and I have played it: Lacrosse, Tennis, Ice Hockey, Baseball, Golf, Bacci, the list goes on.
